Bioinformatics Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a remote full-time Bioinformatics Software Engineer II, the successful candidate will actively participate in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software systems that support innovative genomic products and services for cancer diagnostics.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust software and systems for PGDx products
• Collaborate with leadership to address complex challenges and contribute to software architecture and design
• Implement test methodologies to ensure data and software quality while maintaining system security

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Biology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in software engineering and proficiency in Python, PERL, R, C/C++, Java, or BASH
• Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), pipeline development, or machine learning
• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies and practices
• Ability to work effectively in a Linux environment
