Bioinformatics Specialist I

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Bioinformatics Specialist I to join its remote team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the delivery of accurate clinical reports by reviewing batch and sample level data
• Create tools and workflows for processing and troubleshooting sample data and clinical systems
• Monitor next generation sequencing (NGS) performance metrics and address production bottlenecks

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 6 years of experience in a molecular biology environment with troubleshooting lab or software pipelines
• Experience with bash scripting and programming languages such as Python or R
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git
• Experience with project management software such as Jira or Asana
