BS/MD Physician Advisor

Job Summary

To support high school students through the college and BS/MD application process, the part-time contract BS/MD Physician Advisor will collaborate with college advisors, evaluate student candidacy, edit application materials, and prepare students for interviews while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strong working relationships with college advisors to support applicants throughout the application process
• Evaluate the candidacy of high school students by assessing their academic records, extracurricular activities, and experiences
• Edit personal statements and supplemental essays, and prepare students for admissions interviews

Required qualifications

• MD physician, preferably at an attending level, but residents will be considered
• MUST have attended a U.S. direct medical program (BS/MD, BA/MD, BS/DO, BA/DO)
• Experience working with applicants applying to medical schools
• Expertise in BS/MD and/or BS/DO admissions, preferably with experience on an admissions committee
• High level of emotional intelligence, especially in working with high school students
