Job Summary
Working full-time to support the Veterans Health Administration, the Budget Application, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence Support Specialist will design, develop, and maintain applications that enhance budget operations and introduce automation and AI efficiencies across specialty care programs.
Key responsibilities
- Design and modify web-based and client-server applications to automate budget workflows within the VHA Specialty Care Program Office
- Lead the full software development lifecycle, including planning, requirements analysis, coding, testing, and implementation
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend enhancements that improve budget application performance and process efficiency
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in application development and programming, including web-based and client-server solutions
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field
- Prior experience supporting federal agency IT programs, preferably within the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust and comply with VA security and privacy requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying a formal Systems Development Methodology (SDM) and maintaining technical documentation
