Job Summary
To support the Veterans Health Administration's Specialty Care Program Office, the full-time Budget Application, Automation, and Artificial Intelligence Support Specialist will design, develop, and maintain applications that enhance budget operations through automation and AI-driven efficiencies.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and modify web-based and client-server applications to automate budget workflows
- Perform application development and database programming using RDBMS and SQL, ensuring data integrity and performance
- Lead the full software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, and production implementation
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in application development and programming
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Prior experience supporting federal agency IT programs, preferably within the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust and comply with VA security requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying a formal Systems Development Methodology and maintaining technical documentation
