Job Summary

Seeking an expert Bulgarian Audio Transcriber for a remote, part-time position, responsible for converting audio recordings of native speakers into accurate, conventionally formatted transcripts, while applying expert linguistic judgment and adhering to project-specific style guides.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text following specific style guidelines
• Make principled orthographic decisions for dialectal and colloquial speech, and flag ambiguous segments
• Self-review submissions for quality and engage with QA reviewers on edge cases and style guide updates

Required qualifications

• Native fluency in Bulgarian with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Bulgaria
• Mastery of Bulgarian Cyrillic orthography and ability to distinguish Bulgarian from Macedonian and Serbian
• At least two years of professional transcription or related experience
• Strong ear for Western and Eastern Bulgarian regional accents
• Comfortable with web-based annotation platforms and high-speed internet access
