Business Development Specialist

Job Summary

To support HIAS' Business Development strategy, the full-time Business Development Specialist will identify, track, and qualify funding opportunities from various donors while conducting in-depth research and building a robust pipeline of prospects, with the option to work remotely or from the Silver Spring, MD or New York, NY offices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research to identify institutional funding prospects aligned with HIAS' programs
• Monitor funding platforms and donor strategies to surface timely and relevant prospects
• Lead the development of proposals for general operating support funding

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in international development, public affairs, nonprofit management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in research, institutional fundraising, or business development in a nonprofit or humanitarian context
• Demonstrated ability to conduct donor research and analyze data for funding alignment
• Familiarity with prospecting tools such as Foundation Directory Online and Grants.gov
• Experience with donor databases or CRM systems preferred
