Job Summary
To deepen Observer's power coverage, the full-time Business Editor will manage story assignments and edits across media, tech, and finance, while collaborating with contributing writers and the Contributors Editor to recruit expert voices and enhance editorial content, all in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Track significant news and trends in media, tech, and finance, focusing on influential individuals
- Assign and edit articles that reflect the pulse of power in the respective industries
- Identify and recruit leadership voices for expert commentary in collaboration with the Contributors Editor
Required qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience covering business, media, or technology for a recognized publication
- Established relationships with executives, investors, and industry operators
- Proven ability to break news and write impactful profiles within the covered industries
- Strong understanding of how power is constructed and exercised in business contexts
- Familiarity with utilizing A.I. effectively in newsroom workflows
