California Billing Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Billing and Collections Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage billing within the practice management system, focusing on draft invoices and resolving rejections
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new leads and activate new accounts in the patient management system
• Process payments and refunds, manage overdue balances, and ensure accurate reconciliation of payments

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
• Proven experience in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), patient collections, or medical billing/coding
• Skilled in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and practice management systems
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis on denials and resolve billing discrepancies
• High level of professionalism and empathy when interacting with patients regarding financial issues
