Leading a team of reporters, the full-time remote California Bureau Chief will write original news stories, produce in-depth features for the monthly magazine, and edit key market stories while focusing on the real estate industry in California.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute two to four original articles per week focused on the West Coast real estate market
- Lead daily news scrums to direct coverage for a team of three California-based reporters
- Edit key stories, including breaking news and web features, while liaising with the New York headquarters
Required qualifications
- Demonstrated writing, interviewing, and reporting skills
- Ability to produce clean, well-organized, and accurate copy on deadline
- Experience in business journalism with a strong news sense
- Proven ability to lead a team and provide feedback on story ideas and drafts
- Understanding of journalistic standards, ethics, and protocol
