Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the California Disability Benefit Specialist will evaluate claims, determine benefit eligibility, and guide employees toward successful return-to-work strategies while managing a caseload of disability claims.

Key responsibilities
  • Manages assigned caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims, ensuring accurate eligibility and liability decisions
  • Communicates with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather information and provide timely benefit determinations
  • Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients and management while ensuring a seamless transition from STD to LTD claims
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
  • Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
  • Experience with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
  • Aptitude for learning medical terminology and interpreting procedures and regulations
