California Employment Counsel

Job Summary

To support a well-established national corporate and business law firm, the remote Employment Counsel will assist companies with employment issues, draft complex employment agreements, and advise clients on compliance with California, New York, and New Jersey employment laws.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients in navigating employment issues, including hiring and firing practices
• Draft and review complex executive bonus and commission plans and employment agreements
• Advise clients on misclassification issues and manage audits from labor agencies

Required qualifications

• J.D. with strong academic performance and membership in good standing with the NY, CA, and/or NJ bar
• 4+ years of direct experience in employment law and drafting relevant documents
• Experience with California, New York, and/or New Jersey employment law
