California Leave of Absence Specialist

Job Summary

Managing the full lifecycle of leave of absence cases, the full-time California Leave of Absence Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and maintaining thorough documentation in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee leave of absence, disability, accommodation, and workers' compensation cases for assigned regions
• Communicate status updates and next steps to employees and managers while ensuring timely case updates
• Collaborate with HR Business Partners and vendors to develop appropriate return-to-work plans

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience managing leave of absence cases in a high-volume, multi-state environment
• Working knowledge of federal and state leave regulations including FMLA and ADA
• Experience using a leave management system and HRIS platforms preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
