California Licensed Access Specialist

Job Summary

To support patient access to mental health treatments, the part-time California Licensed Access Specialist will complete Verification of Benefits and secure Prior Authorizations for interventional therapies while working remotely and adhering to a Pacific Time schedule from 9 am to 5:30 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive Verification of Benefits and manage Prior Authorizations for interventional services
• Track authorization status and communicate updates to internal stakeholders while challenging denials and coordinating appeals
• Collaborate with clinic teams and maintain accurate documentation across internal systems to ensure seamless patient access

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare insurance workflows, including Verification of Benefits and prior authorizations
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a persistent, solutions-oriented mindset
• Experience navigating payer portals and complex coverage scenarios
• Technically proficient with EMRs, CRMs (Salesforce), and digital tools
• Ability to work a Pacific Time Zone schedule from 9 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday
