Job Summary
Seeking a California Licensed Addiction Medicine Physician, the part-time 1099 Independent Contractor will provide remote or hybrid patient care, focusing on managing withdrawal states, initiating Medically Assisted Treatment, and addressing addiction-related medical issues within interdisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat drug and alcohol withdrawal, prescribing appropriate medications and determining ASAM Level of Care
- Conduct medical histories and physical examinations, ensuring comprehensive documentation and collaboration with behavioral health staff
- Monitor clients in Withdrawal Management and Residential Programs for treatment compliance and safety
Required qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited U.S. medical school
- Board certification in family medicine, internal medicine, or addiction medicine
- Valid and active California medical license and DEA license
- Clinical experience with addiction, homelessness, and trauma populations
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and telehealth platforms
