California Licensed AR Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Denials Resolution team, the remote California Licensed AR Specialist will manage payment resolution activities, analyze and appeal denials, and ensure timely reimbursement for denied accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve payment delays and variances from denied claims, ensuring compliance with contracts and policies
• Investigate overpayment and underpayment accounts, coordinating with clinical departments for appeals and follow-ups
• Track denial types and root causes, providing feedback for process improvements and documenting all actions in the patient accounting system

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum of two to three years of experience in revenue cycle medical billing, insurance follow-up, and denial management
• Experience in a complex, multi-site environment within California healthcare systems preferred
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
