California Licensed Assistant Controller

Job Summary

To support a rapidly growing consumer subscription business, the full-time California Licensed Assistant Controller will manage core accounting operations, financial reporting, and audit readiness while focusing on process transformation and automation in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Scale the accounting function by owning month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Oversee subscription revenue accounting, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and accurate revenue recognition
• Lead systems implementations and process transformation initiatives, leveraging AI and automation for efficiency

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in high-growth environments
• Experience scaling a company from less than $100M to greater than $200M in revenue
• Significant experience in a consumer subscription business with recurring revenue models
• Proven track record in leading accounting systems implementations
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
