California Licensed Assistant General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Assistant General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior advisor on legal issues related to consumer platforms and operations
• Lead the borrower-side legal team and advise on personal loan and credit card programs
• Manage litigation and represent the company with state and federal regulators

Required Qualifications

• J.D. with solid academic credentials and a State bar member in good standing
• 12+ years of relevant legal experience, including 3+ years in-house at a financial technology company, bank, or top-tier law firm
• Experience with financial services regulation, including GLBA, FCRA, TILA, ECOA, and others
• Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and provide sound legal advice
• Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
