Job Summary

Detail-oriented and proactive, the California Licensed Assistant General Counsel will work full-time to draft, review, and negotiate financing contracts while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, serving as a strategic partner to business units in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, focusing on credit facilities and loan agreements
  • Analyze complex contract terms to identify legal, financial, and operational risks, providing mitigation strategies to stakeholders
  • Manage the contract lifecycle and ensure compliance with lending-related documentation and regulatory standards
Required qualifications
  • JD with excellent academic and professional credentials
  • Member in good standing of the California bar or eligible for admission as registered in-house counsel
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, including exposure to corporate, regulatory, or litigation aspects
  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable business terms
  • Strong understanding of secured and unsecured lending, UCC filings, and debt recovery processes
