California Licensed Associate General Counsel

Job Summary

Seeking a California Licensed Associate General Counsel in a full-time remote position, the role focuses on providing strategic legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle, managing privacy, AI governance, and compliance programs while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Technology teams to provide legal and compliance guidance from development through launch
• Identify legal, regulatory, privacy, AI, and security risks, developing solutions that enable innovation while managing risk
• Enhance the company's compliance program and contribute to security and compliance governance initiatives

Required qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar
• 6+ years of relevant legal experience with a focus on product counseling, preferably in-house at a high-growth B2B technology company
• Experience partnering with technical teams on issues at the intersection of software, hardware, and climate technology
• Strong judgment and creativity in risk assessment and mitigation
• High emotional intelligence and a genuine passion for mission-driven climate technology
