Job Summary
A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist - Outpatient.
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient medical records to ensure accurate documentation for risk adjustment and coding
- Conduct pre and post-visit audits to verify the completeness of medical records for claims submission
- Build strong relationships with clinicians and revenue cycle colleagues to enhance documentation practices
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Minimum of 3 years of ambulatory risk adjustment coding experience
- Preferred certifications include Certified Risk Adjusted Coder (CRC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
- Understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA
- Experience with ICD-10-CM coding and HCC risk models
