California Licensed Charge Specialist

Job Summary

To support the PSJH System Revenue Integrity Chargemaster team, the full-time California Licensed Charge Specialist will ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, manage Chargemaster maintenance requests, and provide training to hospital staff while working remotely during daytime hours.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the Chargemaster is consistent with coding and billing regulations and accurately represents services provided
• Act as a liaison between the hospital ministry and the PSJH System Revenue Integrity/Chargemaster Department, addressing inquiries and coordinating CDM maintenance workflow
• Document policies and procedures related to CDM Maintenance and charge processes while monitoring compliance across individual ministries

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience
• 3 years of hospital chargemaster experience, including familiarity with CDM Maintenance software and billing requirements
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 coding principles
• 2 years of experience working with EMR related to Chargemaster, preferably EPIC
• Driving may be necessary, requiring proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request
