California Licensed Claim Examiner

Job Summary

Managing complex claims with minimal supervision, the full-time California Licensed Claim Examiner will investigate, settle, and evaluate large loss claims while collaborating with legal counsel and mentoring new hires.

Key responsibilities

• Interprets policy coverages and makes independent decisions on complex claims
• Directs investigative activities and litigation strategies in collaboration with legal counsel
• Establishes reserves and authorizes payments, ensuring timely and cost-effective claim settlements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• 4-8 years of technical claims investigations and settling experience
• Ability to work independently while assimilating various technical subjects
• Industry designations such as IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU preferred
• Licensure as required by state or jurisdictional regulations
