Job Summary
A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Specialist, Clinician.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of patient medical records for accuracy and completeness
- Interact with physicians and care teams to clarify medical record documentation
- Identify opportunities for documentation improvement to optimize reimbursement and enhance reporting outcomes
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or foreign-trained physician
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or foreign-trained physician
- 5 years of recent relevant experience; CDIP or CCDS preferred
- Clinical knowledge of diagnoses, severity of illness, and related procedures
- Knowledge of current coding classification and reimbursement guidelines
