California Licensed Clinical Research Billing Director

Job Summary

Leading the Clinical Research Billing department, the full-time California Licensed Clinical Research Billing Director will oversee billing infrastructure, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage departmental staff while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage departmental staff, including selection, scheduling, supervision, and performance evaluations
• Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and institutional policies
• Oversee all activities related to coverage analysis, research charge review, and sponsor invoicing, ensuring compliance and efficiency

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Health Care Administration, or a related field
• Eight years of progressive management experience in clinical research operations
• Five years of progressive experience related to research finance/billing compliance
• Advanced knowledge of CMS billing rules and regulations, including the Clinical Trial Policy
• Strong understanding of the clinical research lifecycle, particularly in budgeting and invoicing processes
