California Licensed Coding Director

Job Summary

To lead coding operations effectively, the full-time California Licensed Coding Director will manage inpatient and outpatient coding functions, ensuring compliance, quality, and financial integrity while working remotely with occasional onsite meetings and trainings.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee all coding activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to enhance coding quality and improve operational performance
• Serve as the primary expert on coding practices, providing guidance and support to staff and stakeholders

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field
• CCS certification and extensive experience in ICD-10-CM, DRG, and CPT-4 coding
• Minimum of 7 years of related work experience, including 5 years of progressive management responsibility
• In-depth knowledge of coding compliance, denial management, and healthcare reimbursement
• Experience with electronic medical records and coding technology systems
