California Licensed Collections Associate

Job Summary

Managing a portfolio of delinquent customer accounts, the full-time Sr. Associate, Collections & Servicing will collect payments, investigate delinquencies, and negotiate arrangements while based in Irvine, CA, with potential remote work for exceptional cases.

Key responsibilities

• Collect on delinquent accounts by initiating contact through various channels to secure payments
• Collaborate with internal teams to investigate delinquencies and negotiate payment arrangements
• Contribute to evolving collection strategies and improve recovery rates while ensuring compliance with industry regulations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, or equivalent experience with 2+ years in customer-facing collections or related roles
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively and handle difficult conversations with professionalism
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of accounts independently
• Experience in conducting in-depth investigations and problem-solving with ambiguous starting points
• Working knowledge of FDCPA, Fair Debt Collection laws, and related regulations
