California Licensed Compliance Consultant

Job Summary

Utilizing advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding and risk adjustment methodologies, the full-time remote California Licensed Compliance Consultant will supervise coding operations, ensure compliance with documentation standards, and analyze operational data to identify performance trends and implement corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor coding operations to ensure compliance with national coding policies and procedures
• Review complex coding scenarios and approve or escalate coding determinations for internal or external audits
• Lead compliance reporting efforts by evaluating compliance data and developing presentations for management

Required qualifications

• Minimum six (6) years of medical coding experience
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role
• Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Clinical, Law, Public Health, Business, or a related field, along with eight (8) years of relevant experience
• Certified Coding Specialist from the American Health Information Management Association or equivalent coding certification
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and coding applications
