California Licensed Compliance Consultant
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time California Licensed Compliance Consultant will independently review medical records to assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations while serving as a subject matter expert in coding functions across various care settings.
Key responsibilities:
- Independently reviews and codes inpatient, outpatient, and supplemental medical records for compliance with coding standards
- Develops and presents compliance reports, summarizing data and identifying potential risks and remedies
- Conducts compliance investigations and supports the management of cross-functional compliance projects
Required qualifications:
- Minimum four (4) years of medical coding experience
- Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Clinical, Law, Public Health, Business, or related field
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in health care compliance, operations, audit, or related fields
- Certified Risk Adjustment Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Professional Coder
- Advanced proficiency in risk adjustment coding platforms and electronic medical records
