California Licensed Conflicts Counsel

Job Summary

Seeking a California Licensed Conflicts Counsel, the full-time position will manage conflicts of interest related to client intake and maintenance, lateral clearance, and outside counsel guidelines, while collaborating remotely or onsite with various departments to ensure compliance and effective resolution of conflicts issues.

Key responsibilities

• Directs and conducts processes in the Conflicts department, including reviewing and resolving conflicts of interest and drafting conflicts waivers
• Maintains thorough communication with partners and staff regarding conflicts requests and complex questions, while documenting resolutions accurately
• Assists in the review and clearance of new hire candidates and prepares training on conflicts, ethics, and professional responsibility for the firm

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor and active law license in the U.S. in the jurisdiction of residence
• Three or more years of direct, full-time conflicts experience at a large law firm
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Intapp Open and Intapp Terms strongly preferred
• Ability to identify, analyze, and implement solutions for conflict of interest issues
• Strong writing skills with the ability to communicate complex conflicts issues clearly and concisely
