Job Summary
To support payroll operations, the California Licensed Construction Payroll Manager will oversee multi-state payroll processing for over 100 employees, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, while working in a hybrid or virtual capacity within California.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end weekly payroll processing, including validation and approval of timekeeping data
- Ensure compliance with California DIR and prevailing wage requirements, managing payroll adjustments and employee data
- Oversee payroll reconciliations, tax returns, and provide leadership support for payroll inquiries
Required qualifications
- Minimum 12 years of experience in multi-state payroll within the California construction industry
- Active CPP designation preferred
- Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
- Proficiency with payroll systems, preferably Ceridian Dayforce and Sage 300CRE
- Experience with government contracts and union familiarity
