California Licensed Consulting Psychiatrist

Job Summary

To support the launch of a new Psychiatry Service Line, a California Licensed Consulting Psychiatrist will work remotely on a contract basis, developing clinical protocols, treating patients with mild to moderate mental health conditions, and supervising psychiatric nurse practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop clinical protocols for treating mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and PMDD, including medication management
• Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners and provide case consultations post-launch
• Design safety and escalation protocols for behavioral health and participate in hiring processes for PMHNP candidates

Required qualifications

• Active board certification in Psychiatry through the ABPN or AOBNP
• An active, unrestricted medical license in California, Florida, New York, or Texas
• A minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience as a practicing psychiatrist
• Demonstrated experience treating conditions at the intersection of hormonal and mental health
• Experience supervising or collaborating with psychiatric nurse practitioners or other advanced practice providers
