Job Summary
Providing crisis intervention and emotional support, the part-time California Licensed Crisis Counselor will work remotely, answering calls and assisting help-seekers while maintaining quality assurance and documentation standards.
Key responsibilities
- Offers crisis-counseling services via phone, aiming to answer 95% of calls within 20 seconds
- Completes safety assessments, safety planning, de-escalation, and follow-up with help-seekers
- Mentors volunteers during their training process and fulfills continuing education requirements as needed
Required qualifications
- Minimum of six months of relevant behavioral health experience, with one year in crisis intervention or suicide prevention preferred
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of emotional intelligence
- Ability to effectively use web-based platforms and electronic documentation systems
- Open availability and flexibility to work within the program's operating hours, including weekends and holidays
