Job Summary

Providing crisis intervention and emotional support, the full-time California Licensed Crisis Counselor will offer assistance to help-seekers via telephone, working remotely with a schedule of Saturday-Monday from 12:30pm-9:00pm and Tuesday-Wednesday from 1:00pm-9:30pm PST.

Key responsibilities
  • Offers crisis-counseling services via phone, aiming to answer 95% of calls within 20 seconds
  • Completes safety assessments, safety planning, de-escalation, and follow-up with help-seekers
  • Mentors volunteers during their training and provides ongoing mentorship
Required qualifications
  • Minimum of six months of relevant behavioral health experience, with one year in crisis intervention or suicide prevention preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to effectively use web-based platforms and electronic documentation systems
  • Open availability and flexibility to work within the program's operating hours, including weekends and holidays
