California Licensed CTO Advisor

Job Summary

Serving as a trusted technology advisor to higher education leadership, the full-time California Licensed CTO Advisor will provide presales solution architecture services, develop tailored solutions, and ensure alignment with client needs while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of complex solutions that support core higher education systems and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Deliver high-level presentations and technical responses for RFPs, articulating the value of proposed solutions to senior-level decision-makers
• Foster long-term client relationships and provide technical leadership during modernization initiatives in decentralized IT environments

Required qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred
• Demonstrated experience in a CTO, enterprise architect, or senior solution architecture role within higher education institutions
• Working knowledge of higher education compliance, governance, and accessibility requirements, including FERPA and ADA
• Experience with public sector procurement and RFP responses, including stakeholder presentations in formal selection processes
• Ability to translate academic priorities into technology roadmaps that balance various institutional needs
