California Licensed Cybersecurity Legal Director

Job Summary

Leading the global data security and privacy legal function, the Senior Director, Head of Cybersecurity & Privacy Legal will develop and execute a legal strategy that aligns with rapid growth and product innovation, while providing expert guidance on cybersecurity and privacy matters in a hybrid or fully remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert legal guidance on data security, cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance matters, integrating legal requirements into technical operations
• Lead the legal side of incident management and response, offering strategic advice during complex security events
• Manage and mentor a team of privacy lawyers while implementing Privacy/Security by Design across the platform

Required qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in the United States
• 15+ years of experience in data security, cybersecurity, and privacy law within the SaaS, Software, Tech, or Cybersecurity sectors
• Significant experience managing cyber incident response in collaboration with Security professionals
• Experience advising executive leadership and boards on cybersecurity and privacy matters
• A deep understanding of global privacy and AI laws, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA
