Job Summary
To support a growing team, the full-time California Licensed Disability Specialist will manage a caseload of disability claims, evaluate eligibility, and provide guidance on return-to-work strategies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manages assigned caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims, ensuring accurate eligibility determinations
- Communicates with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information and provide timely support
- Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients and management while ensuring compliance with contractual provisions
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
- Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
- Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
- Proficient in computer applications including Excel, Word, and web-based systems
