Job Summary
Joining a compassionate team, the full-time California Licensed Disability Specialist will evaluate claims, determine benefit eligibility, and guide employees towards successful return-to-work strategies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manages a caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims, ensuring accurate eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations
- Communicates with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information and provide superior customer service
- Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports while ensuring a seamless transition of claims from STD to LTD
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
- Familiarity with ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
- Experience with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
- Proficient in computer applications such as Excel and web-based systems
