Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the California Licensed Disability Specialist will manage a caseload of disability claims, evaluate eligibility, and guide employees on return-to-work strategies while providing exceptional support.
Key responsibilities
- Manages assigned caseload of Short Term and Long Term Disability claims, ensuring accurate eligibility determinations
- Communicates with claimants and medical professionals to gather necessary information and provide timely benefit decisions
- Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients and management, ensuring a seamless transition from STD to LTD claims
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
- Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
- Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage various technical resources
