California Licensed Employment Counsel

Job Summary

To support a growing legal team, the full-time remote California Licensed Employment Counsel will manage labor and employment matters, assist with product-commercial strategy, and provide guidance on employee relations and compliance issues.

Key responsibilities

• Review and update employment policies, providing actionable advice on compliance, performance management, and employee relations
• Support product and marketing teams by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating revenue and vendor agreements
• Conduct diligence related to employment matters in M&A transactions and manage employment law claims and arbitration

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience, including in-house and law firm practice, with at least 3 years as Employment Counsel and/or Product Counsel
• Deep knowledge of California and/or New York employment laws and applicable federal laws
• Member of at least one state bar, preferably California or New York
• Experience advising on consumer protection laws and drafting commercial agreements
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to various stakeholders
