Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to the leadership team and ensure alignment of legal, regulatory, and government affairs with business goals
• Build relationships with external stakeholders to influence policy and advocate for regulations in the HEI space
• Manage all internal legal functions and oversee corporate governance practices, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation

Required Qualifications

• Licensed attorney in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• 8+ years of legal experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, and compliance
• Legal expertise in ABS securitizations, structured products, and capital markets transactions
• In-house legal experience at a fintech company or startup preferred
