California Licensed General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Counsel to provide legal services and guidance across various organizational functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to support business goals and influence decision-making
• Draft and manage a variety of contracts while overseeing the contract intake and retention process
• Serve as Compliance Officer, leading regulatory initiatives and managing compliance risks

Required Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar membership (California preferred)
• 10+ years of legal experience in insurance agencies, brokers, MGAs, or carriers
• Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting insurance aggregators and Insurtech platforms
• Broad legal experience in corporate law, labor law, commercial agreements, litigation, and compliance
• Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to navigate operational legal issues
