California Licensed General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Counsel (GC) who will serve as a key member of the leadership team, managing the legal function and providing strategic legal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the General Counsel and legal advisor to the executive team
• Lead the in-house legal team and oversee all legal matters including compliance, contracts, and governance
• Provide strategic guidance on regulatory issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of legal experience, including senior in-house leadership
• JD from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership (California or New York preferred)
• Experience managing and growing legal teams
• Expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation
• Strong knowledge of privacy, AI, and data use frameworks in tech companies
