California Licensed General Counsel

Job Summary

Serving as a strategic legal advisor to executive leadership, the full-time California Licensed General Counsel will lead the in-house legal function, manage compliance programs, and support corporate governance while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a strategic legal advisor, identifying risks and opportunities to support informed decision-making
• Build and execute a scalable compliance program covering data privacy and regulatory requirements
• Manage corporate legal activities, including governance, equity administration, and employment law matters

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of legal experience, with 4+ years in a leadership role at an international B2B SaaS company
• Law degree and admission to the local governing body in good standing
• Proven experience building a compliance program in a scaling company
• Deep understanding of sell-side SaaS contracting and experience with complex deals
• Experience implementing AI tools to enhance legal operations and drive efficiency
