Job Summary

To support a growing virtual cancer care service, the part-time California Licensed Genetic Counselor will conduct genetic counseling visits and cancer risk assessments primarily through telehealth, focusing on hereditary cancer risk and results while building trust with patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct genetic counseling visits for individuals with positive or complex hereditary cancer genetic and pharmacogenomic results
• Evaluate personal and family cancer history to assess cancer risk and identify candidates for genetic testing
• Deliver clear and compassionate guidance on cancer risk in a telehealth format, adapting communication for various health literacy levels

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program
• Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
• Licensed (or license-eligible) in the state of residence
• 3+ years of clinical experience in hereditary cancer, cardiovascular genetics, and/or pharmacogenomics
• Proven ability to build rapport and trust with patients in a virtual care setting
