Job Summary
To support Medicaid healthcare programs, the full-time California Licensed Genetic Testing Physician will provide senior-level clinical expertise in genetics and genetic testing, focusing on medical necessity determinations, provider engagement, and quality improvement initiatives while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for genetics, genomics, and genetic testing services
- Review complex authorization requests and conduct peer-to-peer consultations to support appropriate testing and treatment decisions
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to enhance healthcare outcomes and ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations and guidelines
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
- Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in California
- Board Certification in Medical Genetics and Genomics, Clinical Genetics, or a related specialty
- Minimum of 5+ years of post-residency clinical experience in genetics or related fields
- Strong knowledge of molecular diagnostics and experience with Medicaid programs and utilization management
