California Licensed Genomics Counselor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Genomics Counselor (Contract term - 6 months).

Key Responsibilities

• Review clinical guidelines related to hereditary cancer, cardiovascular disease, pharmacogenomics, and population genomics
• Perform gene-level curation and estimate test sensitivity and specificity
• Create clinician and patient-facing test support materials and define test reports

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in genetic counseling or human genetics
• Valid Genetic Counselor License or Temporary Genetic Counselor License issued by the State of California
• Meets licensing requirements for the state of residence
• 2+ years of experience as a genetic counselor in carrier screening and/or rare disease
• Experience in pharmacogenomics and/or population genomics is a plus
