Job Summary

A company is looking for a Government Underwriter (West Coast).

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite government loans including FHA and VA loans, as well as various other loan types
• Maintain communication with Loan Officers and Processors regarding the status of loans
• Assist with training needs of other mortgage positions and manage ad hoc reporting

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of recent government underwriting experience
• Valid LAPP/SAR for VA Loans and preferably FHA (DE) certification
• Experience as a frontline underwriter within the last 12 to 18 months
• Demonstrated knowledge of DU and LP input
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
