Job Summary

A company is looking for a Head of Legal and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with government agencies and commercial customers
• Manage compliance programs and serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies
• Partner with outside counsel on corporate legal matters and ensure operational efficiency

Required Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in a U.S. state bar (California preferred)
• 8+ years of legal experience with a focus on government contracts and defense industry compliance
• Experience with defense contractors, government agencies, or law firms in aerospace and defense
• Deep understanding of ITAR, EAR, and DFARS/FAR regulatory frameworks
• Ability to operate independently and build systems in a fast-paced startup environment
