California Licensed Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

To ensure accurate coding and abstracting of inpatient cases, the full-time California Licensed Inpatient Coder will review medical records, assign appropriate codes using various coding systems, and maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Review medical record documentation to identify and code diagnoses and procedures
• Organize and prioritize work assignments to ensure timely and compliant coding
• Interact with physicians to clarify patient diagnostic and procedural information

Required qualifications:

• Three years of continuous hospital coding experience within the last five years
• High School Diploma or GED with completion of relevant medical coding courses
• Certified Coding Specialist OR Registered Health Information Technician OR Registered Health Information Administrator certification
• Basic knowledge of computer keyboard and mouse usage
• Ability to meet productivity and quality standards for coding
